Jehannah May
DIRECTOR
Jehannah (‘Jay’) May started volunteering for Days for Girls Australia 4 years ago, after reading a book called ‘Invisible Women’ by Caroline Criado-Perez, which highlights a range of different areas of society that are structured to either ignore, overlook, or outright disadvantage women. After being particularly struck by some of the difficulties women in some parts of the world face regarding consistent access to sanitation, and the problems this can pose for menstrual health, a quick Google search brought Days for Girls across her path. Since then, she has been the Newsletter Editor, and done stints as the Social Media Officer.
Jay is a lawyer at MinterEllison, based in Sydney. She works in Health Law within the Insurance and Corporate Risk team, acting for a range of insurers of private hospitals across NSW in medical negligence proceedings. Prior to working at MinterEllison, she attended Sydney University, where she completed Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of International and Global Studies. Outside of work, she likes to read, write poetry, play social sport and travel. She is passionate about justice, including social justice, and feels strongly about remedying unfairness wherever possible.
